Four clubs are on the brink of glory and looking for a ticket to Torino to play the final of the UEFA Women’s Champions League for 2022. This year, North American sportsbooks are all over the matches.
In addition to the standard 3-way moneylines, Canadian and US sportsbooks offer dozens of props, spreads, and totals on Saturday’s pair of ties. They certainly have their opinions about the final matchup as well.
UWCL semifinal odds: Wolfsburg v Barcelona
First, Wolfsburg has a monumental task against FC Barcelona after a 5-1 defeat at Camp Nou. Bettors can watch the match on Ata Football at noon EDT.
Barca gave the German team their heaviest defeat in the competition in the first leg. In fact, only twice in the 32 two-legged ties that Wolfsburg has played before have the She-Wolves lost both matches.
It could be a historic day if fates allow it, with Barcelona always progressing when winning the first leg while Wolfsburg was eliminated when losing that first match. To make things more difficult for the team in green, no club of the 149 that have tried has come back for a difference of three or more goals from a first-leg defeat.
Barcelona has only trailed for 49 minutes in this season’s UWCL while compiling the second-most minutes with a lead (508, only 10 less than PSG). They will be looking to progress to their third final in five participations in the semifinals.
Sportsbooks like Barca to cement their place in the final today. The most forgiving odds on the Spanish side are +300 at BetMGM. DraftKings, FanDuel, and PointsBet all offer +650 odds on a Wolfsburg victory. A draw today carries +480 odds at FanDuel.
A historic side like Wolfsburg won’t go down without fighting, being the club with third-most appearances at this stage of the competition. It could be an eventful day for Jonathan Giraldez who could win his first 10 UWCL matches as a manager, joining Jean-Luc Vasseur in such a feat.
UWCL semifinal lines: PSG v Lyon
Meanwhile, the French derby pitch Paris Saint-German and Olympique Lyonnais face to face again. With this match, they equal the tally of 10 meetings, joining Chelsea against Wolfsburg as the most played in UWCL history. Ata Football will also carry this match at 3 p.m. EDT.
Lyon will try to progress to their 10th final in the same number of appearances in the semis. They’ve won each of their past 14 second semifinal legs after defeating their opponents in the first leg.
Meanwhile, PSG has come back to win the second leg and reach the final in three of their seven ties when they lost the opening leg. If they’re successful, they will be the first team to do it four times in the history of the competition.
Lyon also is struggling when playing away, losing two of their last three tests away from home. That’s the same amount as their previous 47 matches in the competition. For that reason and more, they are just a slight favorite on the 3-way moneylines today.
