UFC London: McCann And Goldy Meet In The U.K.

Written By Gage Miskimen on July 19, 2022

UFC London will see some action from the women’s flyweight division with rising prospect Molly ‘Meatball’ McCann trying to get her third UFC win in a row against Hannah ’24K’ Goldy this weekend. McCann (12-4 MMA, 5-3 UFC) will take on Goldy (6-2 MMA, 1-2 UFC) in London’s O2 on Saturday. The event is headlined by heavyweights Curtis Blaydes and Tom Aspinall.

Legal Canadian and US sportsbooks have plenty of action available on this women’s flyweight bout right now, including moneylines, round props, and method of victory markets. Currently, sports betting apps consider this McCann’s fight to lose and bettors can watch on ESPN+.

Breaking down UFC London’s women’s bout

McCann is in the spotlight more than before as she and friend/teammate Paddy Pimblett have become fan favorites over the last year. Pimblett is also fighting on Saturday’s card against Jordan Leavitt.

This bout will be the British fighter’s second fight in a row in her home country. She is coming off a highlight-reel, spinning elbow knockout win over Luana Carolina at the last UFC London event in March. The betting favorite also has notable career wins over Ji Yeon Kim, Diana Belbita, Ariane Lipski, and Priscila Cachoeira.

Goldy, who trains out of Florida, is coming off a win of her own and is trying to get back on track after losing her first two UFC fights. Saturday’s bout will be her first 2022 appearance after illness kept her out of a previously scheduled bout against Jinh Yu Frey.

What does Goldy’s form look like right now?

Goldy’s last fight was a first-round submission win against Emily Whitmire last September. Before that, she lost two decisions to Belbita and Miranda Granger. A win for Goldy over McCann in London would be a major step forward for the Dana White Contender Series alum.

Both fighters love to throw hands. Goldy has experience in boxing and muay thai and McCann has trained in kickboxing, thai boxing, and boxing since she was a child. A win for McCann could set up a fight with a ranked opponent in the division.

A win for Goldy could help keep her in the UFC as her fourth fight for the promotion is likely nearing the end of her current contract.
