The latest Kansas City Current odds favor them to get their first three-point result of the 2022 NWSL regular season. Whether that’s a good bet to make on Monday, May 30, 2022, is another matter.
The Current’s performances in the regular season so far this year have left much to be desired for their supporters. While the club is talented enough to suggest it will eventually break out of the rut, bettors need to decide whether that will happen on Memorial Day 2022 against an opponent who comes in with strong momentum.
Kansas City Current odds for Memorial Day 2022
FanDuel has the Current as a slight favorite on its 3-way moneyline. The match against Racing Louisville FC begins at 3 p.m. EDT and fans can watch live on Paramount+.
It’s the first regular-season meeting of 2022 for these two sides and just the second home match for Kansas City on the 2022 regular season. However, these clubs played twice in the 2022 Challenge Cup. They drew 1-1 in Kansas City then Racing won 3-0 in Louisville.
The Current have yet to record a win in five regular-season matches and has failed to score in four of those matches, including their home opener. Those are trends they could have a difficult time breaking today if Racing plays up to its potential.
Louisville a stout opponent
Racing is on a four-match point streak and two-match winning streak coming into Monday. Louisville has also secured at least a point in consecutive road matches.
Much of Racing’s success is due to the execution of Jessica McDonald. According to American Soccer Analysis, McDonald has the sixth-highest G-xG (ratio of goals actually scored to expected goals) in the NWSL. McDonald also has two assists to put her among the league leaders.
Louisville keeper Katie Lund might be the club’s MVP so far this season, though. Lund has a G-xG of -4.17, the best such figure among qualifying keepers in the NWSL.
Thus, bettors need to decide which run will end today; Kansas City’s poor form or Louisville’s success. That will determine which way to bet this match.
