The AIG Women’s Open, otherwise known as the Women’s British Open, gets underway this week as the final LPGA major tournament of the season.

A field of over 75 women take to the course beginning Thursday, August 19, and sportsbook anticipate world No. 1 Nelly Korda will walk away with her fourth victory of 2021.

Ways to wager on the AIG Women’s Open

The AIG Women’s Open returns to Carnoustie Golf Links in Scotland this week for the first time in 10 years. Last held at this famous location in 2011, this decade’s participants are gearing up for four rounds of golf on this 71-par, 71, 6,606 yard course dubbed “Golf’s Greatest Test”.

As of now, DraftKings and BetMGM are the only major brands with lines on the tournament.

The two sportsbooks offer Round Leader, Top 5, Top 10 and Tournament Winner odds for each participant. Matchup betting is also available at DraftKings, where bettors can wager on which player out of two will fare better during the tournament.

Below, you’ll find a look at some of the tournament’s top contenders and their odds for this week.

AIG Women’s Open winner odds

Nelly Korda

Since joining the LPGA Tour in 2016, American Nelly Korda has won six tournaments, including her first major at the KPMG Women’s PGA Championship in June. The 23-year-old also won the Meijer LPGA Classic and the Gainbridge LPGA, as well as a gold medal at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics earlier this year. Nelly Korda sits at +800 odds of winning the tournament and +175 odds of a top 5 finish at BetMGM.

Lydia Ko

New Zealand’s Lydia Ko looks to add a third major championship to her list this week. The world No. 6 has won 17 LPGA Tour events during her career. Her last major victory came in 2016 at the ANA Inspiration, where she finished second this year. Ko has logged 8 top 10 finishes this year, including a victory at the LOTTE Championship in April. Sportsbooks position Ko behind Korda in current predictions, giving her +1200 odds of a tournament win.

Atthaya Thitikul

In 2017, Atthaya Thitikul became the youngest golfer to win a professional tournament when she won the Ladies European Thailand Championship. She went on to win the tournament again in 2019. Thitikul has finished in the top 5 during the last seven events this year, and she has logged a 10th place finish or better during exactly half of her career appearances. DraftKings gives her +1600 odds of winning and +350 odds of a top 5 finish. BetMGM gives her +140 odds of finishing in the top 10.

Inbee Park

Inbee Park won the AIG Women’s Open in 2015. This year, she took home the Kia Classic trophy in March and tied for second at the LOTTE Championship. Her odds of a top 5 finish sit at +400 at both books. Those confident in a win from Park can find slightly longer odds at BetMGM, where odds currently sit at +2200.
